“I feel alive, I feel the love, I feel the love that’s really real.”

Walking on Sunshine by Katrina And The Waves

We want people out of their homes, out of their cars, and out and about a heck of a lot more. We want to see people connected to what’s around them and appreciating it, loving it – we’re lucky to live in an awesome place, let’s show it some awe. We want people to live their lives and build their community where their home is, not travel away needlessly.

We want to see people walking, using their own body power. (Running, strolling, skipping, cycling, scootering…) But for people to walk, our parish needs to be walkable.

There needs to be clear, specified, and well-looked-after sensible walking/cycling routes from all our communities, community centres, major employers and schools to all of the other such that are within 4km. That’s something we want to help make happen.

We want safe walking for everyone, everywhere in our communities – the traffic slower, the pavements easier to use, respect for every road user who’s on their feet or their hooves. We like what Poynton have done, we could do it, too.

We’re writing walks that’ll take you around all of our many Commons – there’s more than you’d think – and reveal their quiet wonders. Get people to know and appreciate their own doorstep.
