“Don’t be concerned, it will not harm you
It’s only me pursuing something I’m not sure of
Across my dreams, with nets of wonder
I chase the bright elusive butterfly of love.”

Elusive Butterfly by Dolly Parton

We’re chatting with Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust about taking over the care and management of Neu-Lindsey nature reserve in Amberley.

Neu-Lindsey is about 1 acre of enclosed unimproved (meadow) grass south of St Chloe on a steep south-west facing slope overlooking Inchbrook.

It’s a rare example of its kind of traditional Cotswold landscape, and home to lots of scarce plants and animals. Neu-Lindsey is known for rufous grasshoppers and great green bush-crickets (NL is ‘the home of the cricket’), and there are glow worms, too. At times, in Summer, it’s nothing but butterflies.

You can help by

If we’re lucky enough to take NL over, we want it to be the conservation heart of the Amberley villages, with loads of local people involved in keeping it healthy.

For now, please just show your support for us to the Trust and the Parish and District Councils, and add your name to the list of volunteers interested in spending a few hours each year working on-site, or helping raise funds and supporting visitors.
